I’m currently sitting at gate E79 waiting for my flight to Dallas then to El Paso. Simon Parton is with me… barely. He got caught up in US customs cause they thought there was no mountain climbing in Hueco. Climbing starts tomorrow with a reservation to North Mountain. I’m planning to try Diaphanous Sea right away. It will be a good test to see if I’ve gotten any stronger since my last trip to Hueco last February.

I’m armed with camera equipment too. My most recent aquisition is a Sigma 10-20mm ultra wide-angle lens. It’s going to be a lot of fun testing it out this trip. Expect to see photo posts often.

Unrelated to climbing is a video I watched the other day. I’ve seen videos like it before but this one was definitely eye-opening. It’s called Zeitgeist. The movie is rather long and the first five minutes are just filler but make sure you watch it. I’d love to hear your opinions in the comment section.

I’m back on the 22nd. I hope all of you have a great December!

And here’s that video.

What do Christianity, 9/11 and the Federal Reserve all have in common?

@Charlie: Yeah, the second one is called Zeitgeist Addendum. I haven’t seen it yet, but I hear there is a section that features John Perkins, the author of Confessions of an Economic Hitman, a book I read recently. The World is larger than most of us can comprehend, including myself. So much goes on that we are completely oblivious to. It’s scary. No wonder individuals thrive on escapism. The popularity of Hollywood Celebrities and Reality TV really does prove this. It’s much easier to ignore what happens outside the 1st World than to make an attempt at educating ourselves about how we can make the World better as a whole. It’s a sad, sad truth, I know.

@Jeremy: Great to hear from you Jer. When are you and Nikki back in Vancouver? The amateur photography has been very fun so far. Sometimes I’m more interested in trying to take a good photo than I am wanting to climb. It sounds crazy, I know.

Hey there Jamie. Have fun with that lens. I’ve got that one too and I’ve always been super happy with it. Enjoy Hueco.

Hey Jamie, Mom and I are enjoying ourselves in Cabo immensely! Just finished lunch and we’re going back into town to pick up a gift for Glen’s wife. We just talked ourselves into staying for the day at a 5 star resort. Freakin’ awesome!. Hope to see some pics and read your blogs soon. Please be safe and lots of love.

I have watched both of the zeitgiest movies, and yes, they are mind blowing. The whole bit on how the money institutions of our world work reallt opened my eyes as to why there is so much poverty in our world. And even more, why our economy is in the tanks at the moment. They are both worth viewing.
